Dr. Shaikh Muhammad Saif ud Din is an epidemiologist and specialist in Infection Control with a decade of experience in monitoring, surveillance, and prevention of healthcare-associated infections at the Armed forces hospital, Taif region. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.


Driven by a strong commitment to patient safety, Dr. Shaikh successfully implemented the World Health Organization's multimodal hand hygiene strategy tools, resulting in improved Hand Hygiene compliance and a significant reduction in healthcare-associated infection rates at the hospital. He actively collaborates with microbiology, pharmacy, and infectious diseases departments to advocate for the responsible use of antibiotics through the implementation of an antimicrobial stewardship program.


Furthermore, Dr. Shaikh leads interdisciplinary teams in multifaceted improvement projects, achieving tangible advancements in critical areas such as hand hygiene, ventilator-acquired pneumonia, central line-associated bloodstream infections, and surgical site infections.



Dr. Shaikh is an engaged member of the Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) and a distinguished alumnus of the Texas A&M Health Science Center in Texas, USA.
