PFPS US  Events

PFPS US organizes public awareness and advocacy events, such as those marking World Patient Safety Day (WPSD). Recent WPSD activities included a march down Pennsylvania Avenue to the U.S. Capitol, a remembrance ceremony on the Capitol Lawn honoring patients lost to preventable harm, and a leadership briefing featuring national leaders in patient safety. These events are designed to elevate patient voices, foster solidarity among advocates, and influence policy at the highest levels. PFPS US actively supports patient and family participation, helping individuals from across the country travel to Washington, D.C., to share their experiences and engage directly with policymakers.

Through these events and summits, PFPS US not only raises awareness but also drives actionable change by bringing together diverse stakeholders to identify priorities, share best practices, and build partnerships. The organization’s activities reflect its commitment to the four pillars depicted in its priorities graphic-Patient and Family Engagement, Transparency and Reporting, Safety of Clinical Practices, and Accountability and Oversight-all focused on achieving the shared goal of zero harm in healthcare.
