Lindsay Murray

Lindsay began her advocacy journey after losing her mother in 2021 after a fatal, yet preventable toxicity from capecitabine (Xeloda). After learning her mother’s suffering and untimely death could’ve been easily prevented with a simple blood test, she has made it her mission to change the standard of care for patients receiving these drugs. She is a founding member of AUDT: Advocates for Universal DPD/DPYD Testing and advocates tirelessly to change the standard of care in the US for patients receiving fluorouracil-based chemotherapy.

She has found success in creating a partnership with cancer centers to create a comprehensive pre-testing program for patients receiving these drugs and aims to continue to bridge the gap between patients, families and health care systems in the US. She has a passion for creating equitable, safe care for all patients and has a strong interest in reporting adverse drug events and accountability of our healthcare systems and government agencies following these events. She hopes to be able to continue to create meaningful change in our healthcare systems to improve patient safety and outcomes for all patients.
