In 2018 I was a victim of medical malpractice. Since having experienced this blatant act of medical negligence resulting in permanent injury, I have worked tirelessly toward improving patient safety initiatives. I realized throughout my effort that the 'systems' in place designed to protect us patients, (healthcare consumers) are the same systems revictimizing those who report the medical malpractice.

It is my intention to become an engaged patient safety advocate with PFPS. I am pleased to have recently completed the PFPS Onboarding and had an opportunity to meet with some of its founders. Through this collective initiative, we are the catalyst to improving patient safety, education, and advocacy initiatives. Within this work, I feel seen. I feel heard. I feel supported.
