Wray, J. Ryback,MHA, CPHRM

Ms. Ryback is the Manager of Risk and Patient Relations at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center and has been with the organization since 1996.  Ms. Ryback is responsible for multiple facets of the organization’s Risk Management Program, including various hospital insurance programs, where she manages the renewal and claims process. Her role also includes oversight of the hospital's online event reporting system.  She is the Chair of the Workplace Violence Prevention Committee and works with multiple departments to ensure a safe work environment for all PVHMC employees, physicians, patients, and the community.

In her role as Manager of Patient Relations, she focuses on person- and family-centered care and initiated PVHMC’s Patient & Family Advisory Council in 2014.  This Council is unique due to our hospital-wide inclusion of our Advisors in multiple hospital committees.  Our Patient & Family Advisors participate in our Ethics Committee, Palliative Care Committee, Safety Culture Steering Committee, and our Quality & Patient Safety Committee, to name just a few. She has a passion for patient advocacy and encourages all patients and their families to empower themselves with information and actively engage in their total health, both physical and mental.

Ms. Ryback is the Co-Chair of Tri-City Mental Health Authority Commission, Adjunct Faculty at University of Laverne and Samuel Merritt University, Past President and current Treasurer of the Southern California Association of Healthcare Risk Management, and a member of the American Association of Healthcare Risk Management Chapter Leader Task Force.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading for fun, hiking, swimming and spending time with family and friends.
