How do patients and families
use AI in healthcare?
More and more people are turning to AI tools like ChatGPT to understand symptoms, make sense of a diagnosis, prepare for appointments or write insurance appeals. But we know very little about how patients, family caregivers and advocates are actually using these tools, what helps, what worries them, and what they need to use AI safely.
The PRAISE Consortium AI Survey asks those questions directly, so your experience can guide what comes next.
Whether you use AI every day or have never tried it, your answers matter. The survey takes about 10 minutes and has five short sections about you, how you use AI, how you check what it tells you, your trust and privacy concerns, and what training would help most.
Your individual responses are confidential, and you can answer anonymously. What we learn will shape AI literacy training for patients and families.
