Lynn Mertz, PhD
Lynn Mertz, PhD, is a senior strategic policy advisor with AARP’s Global Thought Leadership team. She partners with health professionals to combat ageism in healthcare, helping ensure older adults receive care that reflects what matters most to them so they can enjoy healthier, more fulfilling years as they age.
Her work also extends to the Global Network for Age-Friendly Cities and Communities, where she fosters international collaboration to create supportive environments for aging populations.
At AARP, Lynn works across housing, healthcare, and equity initiatives, bringing a cross-sector approach to improving the lives of older adults.
Previously, she was a senior policy advisor at the Center to Champion Nursing in America, where she advanced leadership development, nursing innovation, and health equity as part of the national Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action.
Lynn holds a PhD in Higher Education from Seton Hall University, a master’s in Urban Planning from New York University, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Drew University.
