Loryn Carter

Loryn Carter is a Southern California native and the Founder and CEO of CountedCare, a financial platform empowering unpaid family caregivers to track their expenses, maximize tax deductions, and access critical resources.

Loryn’s commitment to the caregiving community is deeply personal. Her passion was ignited through her experience caring for her grandparents, where she witnessed firsthand the emotional rewards and financial challenges that family caregivers face daily. Her church community deepened this understanding, watching families navigate the challenges of a growing, aging population; she saw the same struggles playing out over and over. This lived experience drives her mission to ensure that the 62 million caregivers in the U.S., who save the healthcare system an estimated $600 billion annually, receive the financial recognition and support they deserve.

Prior to founding CountedCare, Loryn co-founded VITAVATE, a health and wellness brand, alongside her mother. Through both ventures, she has championed entrepreneurship as a vehicle for social impact, focused on improving socioeconomic outcomes for underserved communities.

Loryn’s leadership abilities were shaped by her experience as a Division 1 student-athlete at UC Irvine, where she developed the discipline, teamwork, and drive that now fuel her entrepreneurial journey. She recently earned her MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management, giving her the business foundation to scale CountedCare’s impact and transform the caregiving economy.

Loryn believes that caregivers should not have to choose between their financial security and caring for their loved ones. Through CountedCare, she is building a future where every family caregiver has access to the financial tools, resources, and recognition that reflects the invaluable contribution they make to our society.
