Linda Lowman

Linda Lowman

Linda had a passion for special needs children early in her life.

She became a special education teacher and during that time volunteered in the local neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).  She transitioned her career focus to work with babies at risk for special needs and has been a healthcare worker in a large neonatal intensive care unit for over 38 years.

While working in the NICU, her own daughter Paige was extremely premature and a patient in the NICU. Paige had cerebral palsy but in spite of that she had a full and active life that included swimming, horseback riding, and even parasailing.

Paige entered the hospital unexpectedly one Thanksgiving weekend. Although she prayed she could come home, it never happened.  She remained in the hospital for 3 months before her passing.  She was a victim of medical harms  and a medical system needing improvement.

Linda is committed to improving life for others in memory of her precious daughter.
