I am a patient and patient advocate.  I am a DES Daughter, meaning I was exposed in utero to the drug diethylstilbestrol (DES), a synthetic estrogen and endocrine disruptor. This exposure has contributed to both life-threatening and chronic health conditions, shaping my perspective and strengthening my commitment to advocacy and education. I have personally experienced multiple medical errors in the delivery of my care.

I serve as Administrator for the DES Info Association, supporting more than 2,000 members by providing access to research and resources on DES exposure. I am also the author of three publications, including Caring for the Diethylstilbestrol Exposed Patient and Voices of the DES Exposed: Speaking Out.

My advocacy includes active participation in national patient safety and quality initiatives. I am a member of Patient Safety for Patient Safety US, as a Champion and a member of Guardians of PSSM. I have served on Technical Advisory Panels as a patient representative. I am a member of the Partnership for Quality Measurement (PQM) E&M Committee, with plans to serve as a Patient Co-Chair. I am also engaged with PFCC Partners and the AARP PFAC Peer Network, collaborating to strengthen Patient and Family Advisory Councils.

A key focus of my current work is the CMS Patient Safety Structural Measure (PSSM), which will impact hospital star ratings and reimbursement. Across multiple committees, I advocate for meaningful patient input as these standards evolve.

My work is grounded in a single purpose: advancing safe, high-quality, patient-centered care for all, which we deserve.
