Ellen Flynn, RN, MBA, JD

Ellen Flynn, RN, MBA, JD, brings extensive leadership experience in patient safety and quality improvement to our team. She previously served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Patient Safety Organization (PSO) Services at the Sentact Center for Clinical Excellence. In this pivotal role, she spearheaded initiatives aimed at advancing patient safety, healthcare quality, and clinical outcomes across various customer organizations.

Before joining Sentact, Ellen dedicated over a decade to leading the Vizient PSO, where she was instrumental in helping members strengthen their cultures of safety. Her work focused on critical areas such as Just Culture, High Reliability, Human Factors, and Safety Culture. Notably, she played a key role in developing one of the nation's first Patient Safety Organizations, demonstrating her profound understanding of how to effectively operationalize patient safety strategies within a PSO framework. Ellen also holds a special interest in the crucial field of diagnostic excellence.

Earlier in her distinguished career, Ellen managed comprehensive quality, safety, and regulatory compliance programs within several large and complex health systems, including the Rush System for Health, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, and Universal Health Services. Her academic background includes a BSN from Loyola University of Chicago, an MBA with a concentration in MIS from DePaul University, and a JD, also from Loyola University of Chicago.
