As the Executive Director of Breastfeed Durham, Bernadette actively participates in community events, where she shares invaluable resources and knowledge on chest/breastfeeding and other vital health topics. Her commitment extends beyond professional duties; she is renowned locally as the "resource lady" for her extensive support and guidance to parents in Durham.

Bernadette's journey includes overcoming the challenges of being a teen mom, an experience that has fueled her passion for advocacy and support. She leverages this personal history to connect with and uplift her community, offering a blend of empathy, practical advice, and resourceful solutions. She also serves on the board of Fatherhood of Durham, further cementing her role as a pillar in her community.
