I'm excited to join a global community of passionate individuals tenaciously pushing to eliminate medical errors! My story began as a little one with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, in which even the slightest breeze could introduce possibility of detrimental infection. As a youngster, I was sterilizing my catheter port and asking care team members to get different blankets if the new ones that were brought into the room brushed against the dirty floor. Later in life, after recognizing that not all of the other children were as fortunate to have advocates like I did, I became dedicated to serving as the advocate for patient safety for patients around the world. Since then, I've worked in the global nonprofit space with organizations like the Patient Safety Movement Foundation, Imperial College London, New York University (NYU), and major healthcare systems in California to bring seldom-heard perspectives, such as young people, patients, patient advocates, family members, non-clinicians, non-English speakers, and individuals of color into improvement work. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Quality, Safety, and Leadership at Georgetown and hope to continue with applied doctoral work in the quality, innovation, and leadership space. Though a New Yorker by birth and Californian by choice, I'll always be an advocate at heart.
