Mark Hillert resides in De Pere, Wisconsin.   A licensed art education teacher with a Master’s degree in  Adaptive Art Education.   Nearly forty years of total teaching experience in public education, working with students in grades K–12.   Nearly ten years of that time working in a public school with an enrollment exclusively of students with disabilities of ages from 3 to 21.  Includes time in that setting as a principal/teacher support person.

As part of my Master’s degree in Adaptive Art Education graduate work,  I taught in a three-week-long summer arts camp, Young Artist Workshops, for students and young adults with disabilities of ages from 3 to 21.  Program enrollment as on average, ran about 185 students on two campuses.  Eventually was asked to become the assistant director of the program.  Finished working there as the director of the program.

My time as a patient advisor in a health care system began nearly fifteen years ago as a result of filling out a patient survey after a hospital stay.  That was the beginning of my particular health care system’s recognition of the value of the patient voice and view of the patient’s own unique individual health care experience(s). Patient experience and patient voice are a vital piece of our individual health care nationally.
